Maria Rec (1997) is a Mexican artist, known for her collages. She is originally from Guadalajara, where she currently lives.
María Rec's work mainly inhabits the empty space of the surface, where cut-outs and delicate objects burst into the centre, structurally assembled and glued.
These works tell a visual poetry, while dialoguing with our most hidden being, that being that always tries to recognize itself in the chance; it reminds us that, just like a razor, the edge of a tiny pin also hurts us, that the words written in a magazine clipping can always reveal to us what we didn't want to hear.
Maria has participated in many projects, including Tequila 18oo, Whiskey the Glenlivet, Gucci, Cartier and Loona universe, fashion week by Anuar Layon, publications in ELLE México, GQ México, Cream magazine, Coolhunter, Percha Magazine and carton magazine
