Few people find their passion at the early age of 6. Austin Kerr, born in Arlington, Texas, became a part of his family’s furniture manufacturing business early in life.
This involvement enabled him to acquire many skills to specialize in a wide variety of painted finishes, with a particular interest in antique reproduction. In 2009, Kerr launched his own company in Miami serving designers with high-end finishes.
The diverse culture and community transformed his life and work, leading him to art as a new creative outlet. The artwork became a nexus for art and theology, keeping his work and himself connected deeply to God. He believes contemplative art give us a vulnerable place to observe aspects of life we don’t typically consider, helping us to be more present with one another and to live more enriched lives.
